Biography
Dr. Devi Bhakta Suberi is a computer scientist, educator, and researcher whose career spans more than 19 years of teaching, research, and software development across Asia, Europe, and the United States. His work integrates academic scholarship with practical innovation, focusing on the design and application of computing technologies to address real-world challenges in education, government, and industry.
Dr. Suberi earned his Ph.D. in Digital Informatics from Roskilde University, Denmark. He received his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Technology from PSG College of Technology, Anna University, India, and his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Honors in Computer Science from the University of Delhi, India.
Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Suberi held faculty positions at universities in Bhutan and the United States, where he developed curricula, taught undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentored students pursuing careers in computing and information technology. His teaching portfolio includes programming, software engineering, algorithms, data structures, database systems, computer graphics, web technologies, data mining, artificial intelligence, and information systems. He is committed to creating engaging learning environments that blend rigorous theoretical foundations with hands-on, project-based experiences.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Suberi has served as a software architect, developer, and technical consultant on numerous projects for government agencies, higher education institutions, and autonomous organizations. His professional experience informs his teaching and enables students to connect academic concepts with contemporary computing practice.
Dr. Suberi's research interests include digital informatics, software engineering, artificial intelligence, data mining, information and communication technologies (ICT), e-governance, digital transformation, and human-centered computing. His scholarship examines how emerging technologies can improve governance, organizational effectiveness, and decision-making while supporting sustainable digital innovation.
As an educator and scholar, Dr. Suberi is dedicated to advancing excellence in computing education through interdisciplinary collaboration, applied research, and the integration of emerging technologies into teaching and learning. He is passionate about preparing future computing professionals to become innovative leaders, ethical practitioners, and lifelong learners in an increasingly data-driven and interconnected world.
