Course description:
This introductory workshop helps K–12 educators understand what AI is (and isn’t) and how to use it to strengthen day-to-day teaching practices in the classroom. Grounded in foundational AI concepts and classroom-ready applications, this session includes hands-on practice with teacher-friendly workflows learners can use immediately.

6 hours, 9:00 am – 4 pm (1 hour for lunch)
Learning outcomes:
Educators will be able to:
- Identify educational materials that AI can support.
- Create effective AI prompts to design or edit educational materials related to classroom activities or administrative responsibilities.
- Use AI to create and improve instructional design of classroom activities including but not limited to generating and refining lesson plans, discussion questions, classroom activities, scaffolds, etc.
- Evaluate AI outputs for quality and fit (accuracy, bias, appropriateness, readability) and revise results using educator expertise and local context.
