Robert Roadcap Corporate Faculty (Project Management)

I have over 15 years of hands-on experience in project management. I have worked in several industry segments including Information Technology, Service Delivery, Manufacturing, Banking, Healthcare, Package Delivery, Insurance, and Local/State/Federal Governments.

Some of the companies for whom I have worked include Halifax Corporation (now Essintial Enterprise Solutions), WellSpan Health, Technisource, Grant Thornton, Mindteck, TreCom Systems, NIC (dba PA Interactive), Ahold USA and The Hershey Company.

As a consultant, I have worked with various state agencies including State Tax Equalization Board, Department of Military and Veteran’s Affairs, Department of Education, State Workers’ Insurance Fund, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, Pennsylvania State Police, Department of Corrections, Department of Agriculture and others.

I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and received a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Maryland.

I hold several certifications including a PMP, PMI-ACP, CSP, CSPO, CSM, SSGB, ITIL-F, MCSE and MCNE.

I am an active member of the PMI PA Keystone Chapter and Susquehanna Branch Coordinator. I have presented at branch meetings on the topics of “Did You Choose Project Management or Did it Choose You?” and a User Story Lab. I am an active member of the Central PA Agile User Group.

I am a father of two children – a 23-year-old son living in Texas with his fiancé and a 1-year-old son (my grandson) and an 18-year-old daughter who started college at Wilson College on August 17. I have lived in York, PA for 20 years.

I look forward to an interesting, exciting and adventurous fall semester as we explore the Principles of Project Management together.

Teaching and Research Interests:

Robert Roadcap’s teaching philosophy and research begin with a focus on making project management relevant and interesting to my students by providing experiential examples from my background to enhance student learning. He instructs students in the PMGT 510 and PMGT 570 course as a practical application of the project management course learning objectives.

Robert Roadcap strives to engage with students at a level and understanding of the use of project management techniques beyond the classroom and across multiple industry domains by discussing examples from his professional experience. His goal is to mentor students, to interact with the curriculum material as a professional habit, and build an experience that will enhance their career as a project manager.

Robert Roadcap hopes to meet his students in the future at a professional event and hear that they are applying the lessons learned from his classes in their professional careers.
