Luanne Reese Hutchinson Executive Director, Strategic Healthcare Initiatives

Luanne has had a twenty-nine-year career working in various parts of the healthcare continuum.  Before moving to Pennsylvania from Florida in 2016, she lived and worked in the Tampa Bay area. Luanne worked with leadership teams, corporate entities, community stakeholders, and government entities to expand services for seniors and build partnerships with many of the largest providers in the area. Luanne considers the work she did in two specific areas as career highlights.  First, with Bon Secours St. Petersburg, she was instrumental in creating new assisted living, memory care, and home care services for the catholic health system. Luanne then went to Mease Manor Retirement Community in Dunedin as the Chief Strategy Officer where she continued to collaborate with stakeholders both internally and externally to develop and build a new state-of-the-art memory care community.

Luanne has always had a passion for advocating for seniors and the workforce that is called to care for them. She has walked the halls in Washington, DC many times advocating on behalf of those who could not be there themselves. Medicaid funding, Medicare therapy coverage, funding for Alzheimer’s research and care, health equity, population health, and workforce issues have all been topics of discussion with congressmen, senators, and governors. Luanne knows that she was called to be a voice for those whom many times are forgotten.

After moving to Pennsylvania in 2016 she worked at a retirement community and with an acute care hospital team managing transitions of care and working on population health issues. Most recently she was the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of LeadingAge PA, an association that represents not-for-profit senior living providers in the Commonwealth. Working with these providers at the beginning of the pandemic only served to strengthen her commitment to care equity, adequate funding, and creating viable solutions to workforce challenges in all areas of healthcare. Luanne believes that collaboration and partnerships will be one of the only ways to find answers to many of the complex challenges that exist across today’s healthcare continuum.

Luanne graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa and now lives in Lebanon County with her husband Hutch. Luanne loves to play golf and travels to different areas around the commonwealth to discover new courses. Both of her parents enjoyed long careers as therapists and trainers. Their international training company allowed Luanne many opportunities to travel overseas where she believes she gained a greater understanding of how culture affects communication and attitudes toward healthcare.
