Ariel Siegelman Manager of Learning Engagement

Siegelman will manage the source course system for HU courses and increase the use of engaging instructional elements in the University’s hybrid and online courses. She will work closely with course faculty and program leads as a design consultant, identifying opportunities for improvement, and integrating innovative and engaging instructional activities into courses to enhance student learning.

Siegelman joins HU from Temple University, where she spent the last five years as a Lead Digital Media Specialist and Senior Educational Technology Specialist at Temple’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching, with previous positions at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Penn State University.

Siegelman holds a M.Ed. in Learning, Design, and Technology. She has more than 10 years of experience consulting with faculty about best teaching and technology practices, designing and facilitating pedagogy and educational technology workshops and other faculty programming. She also has experience creating face-to-face and online asynchronous educational tutorials, videos, and other materials, as well as creating audio, video, and graphic design multimedia content.

She also has extensive experience working with Canvas, teaching synchronously online with videoconferencing, and has a vast knowledge of educational technology tools. Siegelman is currently co-authoring a book with a former colleague on designing and delivering digital storytelling assignments in the classroom as an inclusive teaching practice.
