Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Harrisburg University Honorary Alumni Association. As an Honorary Alum of HU, you will be joining more than 200 community, corporate, and philanthropic leaders who generously support student scholarships and academic programs at Harrisburg University.
The Honorary Alumni Association is critically important to a new and growing University that does not yet have an alumni base. For just $1,000 (payable over time or in one lump sum), you can invest in the future of an HU student, as well as the long-term prosperity of the Capital Region. In fact, a recent survey by Central Penn Business Journal found that Harrisburg University is the most significant economic development project in downtown Harrisburg in the past decade, and the one that will have the most long-term impact on our region.
All of the funds raised through the Honorary Alumni Association are dedicated to scholarships and academic support for students studying for careers in math, science, engineering and technology. With a student body that is nearly 55% minority and 50% women, Harrisburg University is making a college degree possible for two groups of students that have typically been the most under-represented in the science and technology fields.
Additionally, along the Academic Center’s Market Street entrance, a 2,000-brick walkway will honor the generous individuals who invest in our students and our University. Those who contribute at least $1,000 become members of the Honorary Alumni Association and have their names permanently engraved on this gateway to the future, right in the heart of downtown Harrisburg.
An investment in HU is one that you can be proud of and one that will pay dividends far into the future.
