Spring 2013 Graduate Courses Available to Online Learners

Interested in graduate courses offered by Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, but can't make it to the Harrisburg campus? Join classes via an online option that delivers courses simultaneously to on-campus and online students with user-friendly Adobe Connect™ software.

"Students get the same conversation and instruction that face-to-face classroom learners experience while enjoying the benefits and convenience of attending virtually," says Andy Petroski, director of the Learning Technology Master of Science  (LTMS) program at Harrisburg University.

Spring 2013 graduate-level courses online include:

LTMS 510 Learning Technologies & Solutions {Mondays, 6:00-8:50 PM)
This course presents an overview of multiple technology-based solutions to realize learning outcomes. Beyond a survey of learning software, the course challenges the student to think broadly about emerging technology trends that present opportunities.

LTMS 514 Media Selection, Design & Production (Tuesdays, 6-8:50 PM)
This course focuses on creating media for learning solutions. Selecting appropriate media to meet learning objectives are explored as the student creates graphics, illustrations, audio, video, and animations to support learning. Graphic design fundamentals are addressed, in addition to production skills like media compression and conversion.

LTMS 614 Social Learning in the Organization {Wednesdays, 6:8:50 PM)
This course explores the use of social learning and communication in organizations, the software tools used to enable online social interaction and the challenges of organizational implementation. Social learning technologies enable conversations, content  creation, connections and collaboration in the organization . When socially-enabled, these activities can increase productivity, deliver knowledge at the time of need and address time and location challenges that exist in today's organizations.

LTMS 600 Implementing Web 2.0 in the Classroom {Thursdays, 6:00-8:50 PM)
This course enables exploration and practice with "Web 2.0" learning technologies and investigates how the integration of these technologies in the classroom can impact teaching and classroom dynamics. A variety of tools for managing information, creating content and collaborating for learning are explored.

Classes are cohort based and follow the University's Academic Calendar.

The LTMS program is an innovative, applied learning technologies program that provides students with immediate career benefits while preparing them for projected industry needs. The LTMS program is a part-time or full-time 36 semester hour program that provides students with leading edge approaches and skills to help them apply existing and emerging learning technologies in a variety of learning environments.
