Funding Your Graduate Studies @ HU
Harrisburg University promotes and facilitates the pursuit of lifelong education. We work with you to determine your eligibility for generous University scholarship and federal student loans.
For full-time students pursuing a graduate degree, we offer several scholarships and awards, including:
- HU Graduate Merit Award. Award of $1000 to graduate students enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) with a minimum GPA of 3.50.
- HU Graduate Opportunity Award. Award of $2000 based on financial need to graduate students enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) with exceptional need.
Of course, there are student loans, too. A graduate student can borrow as much as $18,500 through the Federal Stafford Loan program if taking 6 credit hours or more per semester. Students may also borrow funds from the Graduate PLUS Loan or Alternative Student Loan programs.
Tuition reimbursement goes further at HU. Under our Employer Deferred Payment Plan, if your employer offers tuition reimbursement, you can defer your tuition payment until the end of the semester. Just ask for the details on our EDP plan. Additionally, HU offers all students the option of choosing an interest-free monthly payment plan to cover the remaining cost of tuition.
We’ve made funding your graduate studies an easy process. First, complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) found online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. The University’s school code is 039483. You can get a copy of the FAFSA in HU’s Office of Financial Aid. Once you complete the FAFSA process, we review your eligibility for University scholarships during a one-on-one financial advising session with Financial Aid Services.
