Food Safety and Quality Assurance Undergraduate Degree Concentration
In order to address the gap in highly trained food professionals in Pennsylvania, Harrisburg University created the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Concentration within the Biotechnology degree program. This concentration is designed to give students a foundation in food science and technology education and experiential learning in food safety and quality as well. This program was launched in fall, 2010.
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Concentration provides courses and education in the following academic areas:
- Food science and technology
- Food safety and quality assurance
- Food microbiology
- Food biotechnology
- Food and Nutrition
- General chemistry
- Organic chemistry
- Epidemiology
- Genetically Modified Foods
- Other science and technology course areas
