Linda Beck Corporate Faculty (GEND)

After successfully leading others in the corporate world, Linda transitioned into college-level teaching in 2000. Since then, she has taught for multiple colleges based in Central Pennsylvania at the undergraduate and masters level. Primarily focused on business communications courses, she has taught a variety of courses in public speaking, business writing, organizational behavior and communication as well as special topics courses.

Linda holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications and a master’s degree in Psychoeducational Processes. She believes in the importance of lifelong learning and loves to read and engage with others on meaningful issues. Recently, she’s studied material on generational differences, conflict management and social media. She tries (although not always successfully) to read at least one book per week, including nonfiction and engaging fiction.

Because of her interactive teaching style, Linda has been awarded numerous teaching accolades, including being on the “faculty dean’s list” at one local college. She was also the recipient of the “Excellence in Teaching” award given one outstanding faculty member per year at another local college. Linda has taught in all facets of higher education, including classroom, blended and online courses. She has also consulted with various businesses and organizations to produce training programs and/or improve training methodology.

When not in the classroom in one form or another, Linda can most likely be found training for half and full marathons. While running isn’t necessarily her preferred form of exercise, she has fallen in love with the social aspect of running as well as the opportunities to travel for large races.
